Hi Folks,
I got a PS3 Toshiba 250GB 2.5" HDD from a customer.
It looks like partition information doesn't exist.
The HDD is not physically damaged but when trying to scan it i find files but not the standard types as pictures etc.
I suspect that there is some type of encryption, does anyone familiar with issue like this on a PS3 disk?
Cheers,
Oded

playstation 3 encrypts the data. You need to place HDD back into original PS 3.

If file system is damaged the console can enter a 'recovery' mode where it can try to repair.
The file-system as I understand it is a variant of JFS2, and uses 256 AES encryption with the hardware key linked to the individual console the HDD is in.
There are software solutions available if you have access to the original console, but as far as I know nothing to help with a corrupted file system.
