Problem with Toshiba MK5065GSX

February 3rd, 2012, 7:47

Hi guys,

Got a Toshiba MK5065GSXN which when put into Data Compass spins, but is failing to read. The drive isn't clicking or making any other noises.

What steps would you recommend me taking next to diagnose the fault? Is firmware a common problem with these drives?

Thank you for you help,
DR

Yes, especially with such symptoms.

They are normally pretty easy to sort out with PC3K, don't know anything about SD stuff.

you might want to outsource this one to a pro with pro tools.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

I have HD Doctor but I'm missing the Toshiba module, may have to outsource this one.
