Hitachi Deskstar HDP725025GLA380 not recognized

Hi,

First of all I would like to say a big thank ll of you before I start. This is a great forum.

I have an Hitachi Deskstar HDP725025GLA380. Sticker says:
OA29775
BA2996A
M2T911

I removed it from a working PC and wanted to connect it to a new PC with a USB adapter and an external PSU.
After doing that the drive spinned a second and than stooped. I have triad again and all I got was no spinning,
a few gentle clicks and than stopped. Every time I triad to power it it worked the same. No spinning sound
or very low and a few silent click and than nothing.

After consulting and getting some info I purchased a replacement PCB. It should have been the same one but
I was sent one that had this numbering. (looks the same PCB):
OA29775
BA2996B
M2T933

I have taken the NVRAM from the old PCB and installed it in the replacement board. When I powered up my PC
the drive started spinning. Beside spinning it now clicks louder, slower but never stops clicking like it did before ?.

It looks to me that the replacement board is either faulty as well or does not match the drive.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Noam.
