Hi,

I don't know very much about SCSI drive but maybe some of you will...
So do you know what that error would mean (see attached file) ?

You're right, it doesn't spin...
But the motor is not stuck and the result is the same with a donor PCB.

it's not that easy to Chang pcb in scsi beside firmware issue

Agreed - unfortunately I have also seen exactly the same ASC & ASCQ values from disks which have deliberately spun-down (or did not spin-up) due to an internal fault, and on those drives, sending a Start Unit from the host causes the drive to return the same values again.

Some of the Adaptec SCSI card BIOS can be configured to send (or not) a Start Unit command (on a per-target basis), so the OP can try that BIOS setting for the correct target ID, in order to try your suggestion.

With the jumper, now the HDD is spinning but I still have "Unexpected SCSI Command Failed" and now the "Sens Code Qualifier" is 0x00. So according to fzabkar (thank's for the wikipedia page), the HDD is now "Not Ready - Cause not reportable." with the original and donor PCB...

I think i'll try to change the head's in the afternoon.
Do you think that's a good idea or that's useless because it's firmeware issue ?

These can be changed, but the process is difficult and procedure totally different to any head change you may have done already.

If the job is bigger than you then simply return the media to your client who can send to to someone who can do it, though it will not be cheap considering the work required and the fact that work has already been attempted on it.
