U5 firmware corruption.

Hi, is it somethimes possible that firmware modules get corrupted to the point where all the mdoules contents same? A drive I have with firmware downloaded in Jan. has this problem, and I checked a few other U5's and found the same. Trying to see where the fault source is.

Is my only option donor files? Yes or no answer all I need. Not looking for spoon feeding.

Any suspicion that somebody worked on the firmware?

Maybe a declined case from some other place?

Thanks for replying. Sorry I should have given more info at the start. This drive is not for recovery, but for research. There is no evidence that it was worked on before so cannot say for certain why mods were corrupt. The only thing I can think of is maybe unit did not save them properly or I did something during my testing and forgot about it (I did not change PCB).

It seems I can upload all mods except ATA. With ATA when I upload then read, file size is as it should but content with all zero. It seems my only option is to boot using donor files, but just need to confirm that there isnt other solution.

Yep it is a SD. I guess that is my answer . I will be checking mods I have saved from other drives to see if they show same. From at least one download I have seen so far I am not the only one to have that problem, other person probably didnt even realise.
