Samsung HM321HX/VPK Recovery

Samsung HM321HX/VPK Rev.A

Connector dropped loose, now connected back perfectly but it still wouldn't work.

Now, there has been one too many cases of such, where the connector came off, and I connected it back perfectly, but it still wouldn't read. Is it the connector in the first place or is there something else?

Voltage of 5V is definitely coming through to the board as well, it's been measured.

I have Hyper Terminal. Let me know what kind of extra information you might need.

Thank you.

Does the drive spin up? If not, does it sound, or vibrate, as if it is trying to?

Did the USB connector break as a consequence of a fall?

I would connect your USB cable, and then use a multimeter to test for continuity between each pin at the USB-SATA bridge IC (JMicron ?) and the corresponding pin at the host end of the cable.
