i have a Toshiba MK325GSX 320Gb with a dead pcb i have the donor drive. do i have to change the ROM chip? and if yes which one? i tried hot swap with DDI but shows me "I" when getting data.

if you will change the full pcb ,yes you must swap the rom chip. but first try repair the pcb .see the fuses and coils after the power connector

IC305 is part of a power supply. The adjacent coil provides the clue to its function.
