data recovery

March 25th, 2012, 12:03

Hi everyone. I have got a SAMSUNG - HX-MTA50DA/D2 S2 portable3, 500 GB that seems to have some problem.I cannot find any of my files although the device shows 'used' portion while detected by PC. Everything else seems normal but cannot find the files.Have tried in other ports in other PC but no luck so far. I would also like to mention that I did not drop it anywhere or it does not make any noise. But may be last time it wasn't unplugged properly.Don't know how to recover my data. Please help with my problem as soon as possible.

Try R-Studio demo version. It will scan your drive and show you all recoverable files. If you are happy with it, buy a license and recover your data onto a new hdd.

Assuming there is no other problem with drive, you should be good to go.

Good advice on this one. Northwind is right. You can try demo version and then purchase full version. Or you can try GDB which is Get Data Back for NTSF and do the same with this one. RStudio is a good program and would go with this one first. Almost forgot might want to clone this HDD before starting. It is not really wise to try to work on this HDD with a recovery program better to do all your work on a clone HDD and keep the original one as it is. DDRescue can clone it for you and is a free program you can get to do this one.
