problem with samsung disk

hello all!

I have a samsung hard disk that has suddenly started to do the classic sound of the crash of heads and no longer wants to start

start- tak tak tak - pause - tak tak tak tak - pause - and continues until you turn it off.

(number of tak is random, sometimes it's just 1 or 2 or 3-4 consecutive)

is certainly a problem of heads or may be the controller of the PCB that can be broken?

@Darknight, it sounds like you are describing a stiction fault (heads stuck to platters), or a seized spindle bearing.

@fzabkar, tak tak tak sound is never a sticktion problem. sticktion sounds like 'bleep bleep bleep'

The sound the OP is describing is definately a head problem and it's the sound you get when the headstack sways from one side to the other and hits the end stops.

If I provide a clean room is possible to replace the heads?

there is the possibility that it may be the disk controller pcb?
