WD20EARS Formatting Aligning

Hi,

I am using WinXP and WD20EARS as a second HDD. Pins 7 and 8 are with Jumper. Then i format it in WinXP do i need to do Alinging with WD Tools powered by Acronis?

This is not a data recovery or repair question and therefore it is off-topic for this board. IMHO this type of sys-admin question is better directed at the manufacturer's support. IIRC your answer depends on whether there are multiple partitions on the disk or not, but I expect you will find advice in the WD website support section.
