Need WD10EACS 1.0TB PCB

June 19th, 2012, 8:24

Hello folks.

I have a Western Digital 1.0TB HD that was dropped. I'm thinking the PCB is broken. No visible damage, but when connected with an SATA enclosure the HDD spins up and clicks repeatedly. Wondering if a new PCB will fix the problem? It seems to be the cheapest solution to try.

The PCB has 2061-701590-800 AD on the back. Please let me know if anyone can help or any other information is needed.

Thanks!

PCB won't help you to revive your drive, unfortunately.
Your drive has physical damage inside after being dropped. :(

The answer to your question is no. It will not fix the problem, because the problem is elsewhere.

Good luck

Rats! That is what I was afraid of. I will try a last ditch attempt at recovery using a rubber mallet. Ha.

It isn't worth the $600 I was quoted to recover.

Thanks

That's quite a bargain, really.

Good luck!
