I downloaded the exact firmware of my seagate barracuda 7200.11 500 gig
because it's only detected 8mb in windows as secondary, and 0bytes can be viewed in bios, with exact brand and model
my primary hd is 1tb seagate also.
When I install the firmware with .exe extension while surfing the net, I left the installation at background, so I can't see the progress, then suddenly the computer restart normally as like I restarted normally.
BUT when it restarts, it doesn't go back to the POST, it blackens the screen UNTIL now it doesn't display a bios POST, but the hardisk lead light is still blinking and the memory(ram) is still processing(I know it because I have a ram lead light)
Should I turn-off the computer and turn-on again?
I'm scared, maybe I think it upgrades the wrong hardisk(1tb)
What should I do?
I think it's been 1 hour since I installed the firmware udate,
thanks

I think it's more than an hour now, it's still processing with display,
the numkey is not working, but the ram led light is still processing slowly

You cannot update the firmware on a Seagate 7200.11 drive after it has already failed. You will need to send your drive to a data recovery professional, if you want your data recovered.
