Seagate SCSI ST373307LW head swap

Hi guys
hoping someone can provide a quick run down of the head swap process on this drive, there appears to be a stopper preventing head removal of the platters.
If someone has experience with this or similar SCSI drive and can assist it will be greatly appreciated,

If this is the model i am thinking of...
If i remember these drives...the is a nut on the bottom for the motor assembly and a screw for the heads.

Unscrew the ribbon cable from the inside of the drive that connect the heads to the board. Screw the Top cover back on the one for the platter and for the heads. turn it over unscrew the nut and the heads screw. If all goes correct you should be able to take the top cover off with the heads and the motor ( and platters ) intact. Then you can slide the heads off.

These are a a pain but it can be done.

the nut has three divits in it. You can use a pair of pliers to loosen it up

you will also need to remove the pin cable from the board bins and let it hang inside. There are two magnet screws on

also remove the screw and the black head spacer

i attached a picture to show you what it will look like if it goes well

Thank you guys very much, all sorted, head swap was successful,
only issue is that now the drive will appear on the scsi controller as seagate ST373307LW but will not show size of drive,
I suspoect this is the fw issue with the drive,
is there any way to attend to this with no pc3000 SCSI?

I also tried to do a heads swapping for the same seagate scsi drive,but just cannot unscrew the nut on the backside. can any one guide me what kind of special plier need to get?
