HDD with bad sectors repaired still cannot boot- HELP

July 14th, 2012, 9:15

Have a Samsung 1.5Tb HDD that just went dead. Cannot even boot my WIn7.
I am only interested in recovering the data- the HDD can be buried (this is the 2nd Samsung HDD for me that costs me lots of heartache).
Ran HDD Regenerator for about 15 hours and it discovered and repaired all the bad sectors.
However I still could not boot with the HDD connected. Expert advice appreciated on what to do next. I have data rcovery software- I just need to have the HDD in good condition and readable.

On a further note, can the HDD be used again- even just for temporary storage?

Thanks to all in advance.

Wouldnt have started with "treatment" before retrieving data off of the drive.

Never play with the original (defect) hdd, produce a clone and work with this
one.

If you can see the drive in your pc´s bios, you could try with R-Studio
or similar programs, otherwise dont try anything else and look for a
local pro to get proper advice.
