Trying to copy a corrupted drive.

July 16th, 2012, 5:06

Hi there.

I have a usb external drive that's become slightly corrupted. I'm trying to make a copy of that drive onto another usb drive before doing anything to try and recover the data in case anything goes wrong. Have run the hdd raw copy tool which took about 15hours to run and seemed to copy fine, however, the destination drive now doesn't seem to have anything on it. Windows can't even recognise the drive. The drive in question is a 690gb Western digital and the destination drive is a 1TB Verbatim. Is this the right tool to use and if not what other tool should I be using?

Use search function for keywords such as "cloning, bad sectors" etc.
