hi all
my HARD DISK of dell insporon laptop failled to open in as external
note: i used password in BIOS before the laptop got power juck porblme ,and cannt repair any more
so my qustion> is there any way to get my data back?
is there any way to format my HDD?

Seems that your HDD is PW protected now and if this is the case will not open as an external HDD. You will need to see a repair facility for DR that has tools to work with this. HDD PW = locked drive no access to data.

Just a short reply... This is typical behaviour when a disk with an ATA password is attached via USB.
There are several options which you can try (some depending on the make/model of your disk) but you'll need to attach the disk via (S)ATA to use them. You haven't explained what other systems you have access to, where this disk can be installed, or the make/model of disk etc.
Perhaps the cheapest way to resolve your problem is to fix your old laptop good enough for it to work for just 2 mins, with this disk re-installed inside it, so that you can disable the password.

first my old laptop is lost and i couldn't find the same ,couse it is old version (dell inspiron 1525).
second my HDD model :HM251I of Samsung .

As you say you knew the old password? I assume you ment the current password?
Have you tried connecting it directly to a pc or laptop as the only drive & then boot to bios you might be able then to type your password & unlock it?
Also look in to mhdd software on the files section of this website.
Both the above are only valid if you know the password.
Otherwise seek a dr pro as poehere mentioned, prove ownership & pay their fee.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH for the first option my laptop can not boot from my protect external HDD.
FOR MHDD I do not know why the computer show only black secreen when i boot from cd of mhdd

Changed the boot order accordingly? Sure it is booting from cd?
If that is not the booting problem, then have you changes the BIOS mode to IDE mode?

You have misunderstood the suggestion from
loki. He said that you have to
directly attach the "locked" HDD. In your case, that means connect it via SATA (
if you accept the risks of you causing ESD / mechanical damage to the drive during handling etc. etc.).

for first i don't mean to make any pressure or to force any one to give me a help by say OHH>> just i tries to express my responses ,but any way ,i m so sorry for all of you.
second im sorry cause im not expert in the subjest.
thirth my HDD for lap top not disktop do you mean i must put the hard disk as internal to unlock it.and what kid of risks i do not get it.

Hi,
Risks like electro static discharge.
ESD ie static shock from you to the pcb can damage components.
Yes attach the hard drive internally. If installing it in a desktop pc then make sure its the only hard drive attached. Then boot to BIOS & see if you can then unlock the drive.
If you dont feel comfortable doing this then either ask someone who is or seek pro help.
Remember your accepting the risks when apptempting to do it yourself.

i download Hiren,s boot CD . BUT I found in you tube only how to reset bios password for the main HDD.
IS there a way to acess to the secondary HDD.

It is becoming clear that you need someone else to physically look at this for you. Maybe its a language miss understanding? maybe not? Your best option is to go to a dr pro & let them unlock it for you.
