Proper tools for WD20EARX ?

Hello guys, I need proper tools (Platter and Header exchange tools) to swap the platters of a : Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB,Internal,7200 RPM,3.5" (WD20EARX) Hard Drive

Any help Please ?

Why do you want to swap out platters? This is not so easy and WD is not so forgiving on this one. If you need to ask for the right tools then you should seek the right person to do the job. This is not one that should be done by just anyone and if you have never done it before it is not a good drive to start with.

Alternative : your hands and some other stuff (for free and the rest : affordable). What is expensive is what is needed to drive the hands (no money can buy).

The only time you should swap platters is in the case or motor / bearing failure.

Even so, the process is very exacting, and there is NO chance that you will succeed on a first attempt.

and to add to all the above, I seriously doubt this drive actually NEEDS a platter swap. I have seen only once a seized motor in Marvell.

Maybe OP can describe symptoms and someone will guide him further as to what is needed.
