Firmware Seagate U series X

November 8th, 2005, 11:39

Hi to all! I have a (xbox) locked Seagate ST310014ACE. I have seen that there is in downloads a firmware backup of ST320014A. I would know if is possible to flash my drive with this backup. I ask you this because I have seen this page http://www.seagate.com/cda/products/dis ... 57,00.html ,
and the drives are identical, moreover i have flashed successful a (xbox) locked ST310211a with a firmware of U Series 5.
If the flash is possibile i would know how make the flash and the eventual backup of my drive.
Excuse me for my english and thanks to all!

If you want, you can unlock your drive for a small fee (about $45)
with repair station - http://a-ff.com/products/rrs/

thx for the reply

i know this from xbox-scene.com

but i dont want to pay 45 $ / unlock couse ive got 4 locked drives here.

that would be to expensive for me, because i go to shool an earn no

money.

there is a unlock software für seagate hdds that cost 450 $

but that is tooo expensive for me.

my only question is : how can i flash the firmware ?

has someone a link to a seagate flash tool ?

Hello,

Excuse me for saying this, but it makes me a bit upset when somebody (even a student) doesn't want to pay the price of getting something.
If U check the page mentioned by zed_drive, U find that U can unlock 3 drives for ~$90. that's only $30/drive.
How about selling them as defective drives and buying a working one?
If a student wants to get a legal copy of a software (I can hardly imagine that) he can probably get it on a discounted price but not for zero.zero bucks ...
please shoot me !

What a coincedence. I just registered here to ask this question.

All I need is the firmware for this drive. Based on previous information, I know I need:

Code:
UX309.CRT
UX309.FLS
UX309.OVL

UX denotes the drive family, 309 denotes firmware version [3.09]. Once I have these files, I'll be writing a full tutorial on unlocking this drive.

Sooooo, who knows where I can find them?

Thanks.
