Seagate Freeplay ST1000LM010

I've got a Seagate FreePlay ST1000LM010 hard drive PN 9YH146-550, FW CC9E. PCB IC LSI 866508 SEAGATE 1039T TPP3K923 23MM001FQHF 8AM391CT. Small chip 980 L SH6966 A 07A1XLID. Drive spins up and sounds OK but is detected as ST_M13FQBL 4GB. IC chip gets very hot to the touch. Any hope of a PCB and ROM swap being successful here?

In this instance it might be worth a shot, at least rule out the PCB.
