Seagate goFlex Stopped working and now buzzes

August 26th, 2012, 13:04

It began when I tried to move data and it made sort of a plunger sound. I tried to get as many pictures off as I could, but eventually it stopped doing that and now just buzzes.

It doesn't even show up as a drive in Windows Explorer now that it is buzzing. It does, however, make the connecting noise when I plug it in.

I am a photographer and I have about 200G of source files on this drive. I could care less about the drive if I could just remove the data.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,

First option would be to remove the drive from the box, and connect it directly to SATA and power and check if you feel any differences.
If it continues to buzz, I would stop it and go to a data recovery pro, so you can get a proper diagnosis.
