HDD shows correct size but all folders show zero bytes(empty

September 14th, 2012, 4:36

I have an external HDD.
The HDD size Properties shows correctly the Used space as 8 GB and free space as 1.5 GB.

However, all the folders are empty and also size is shown as 0 bytes.

I know that there are hundreds of files in the folders, but cannot see them and even explorer shows blank.

How can I once again see the files and open them?

thanks for advice.

You should find some free app to scan your drive and try to see if your files come up.
You can use something like Recuva.
