hi
i have this old maxtor 80gb ide hdd.. i have some important data in it..
i upgraded my aging p4 system with core2quad one but that pc had no ide support so i had this cheapo ide to usb converter and its equally cheap power supply ... the instant i pluged its psw to hdd it went smoke.. one ic was burnt on board.. then i found board from same hdd ... same size.series.chips. etc..
now i attached that board to hdd and in bios of p4 system which has native ide support .. it is showing the hdd but in windows its not..
what to do now ?
also is there any such software which allows me to just make an image of current state of entire hdd and then later use that image as a \real\ hdd to recover files from ?
thanks a million..
