October 1st, 2012, 7:30

Customer brought in a WD4001abys-01NA0 with a mad logic board. They ordered a replacement board for the exact model it didn't work. They determined via other forums that the Marvel chip needed to be traded. We have the equip to do this but Was looking for more input.

Did you analyze the firmware and functionality before embarking in MCU replacement OR are you absolutely sure the problem is ONLY MCU / you have to fix the PCB THEN carry on next repair ?
