Barrcuda 7200.12 Data Recovery

October 12th, 2012, 1:11

Hi All,

I ve got ST3500413AS (500GB) seagate barrcuda internal HDD with firmware : JC4B.
Drive in no longer detected by BIOS, It spins ok, no click sounds... My assumption is bad firmware, or corrupted SA as it spins ok without noise and keep spinning.

Please advise me how I can get data recovered from this HDD.
1) by changing board and ROM???
2) By terminal???

I need your help and advise guru's.

Regards

Hello,

I just pluged this drive into an old dell PC and it has just detected HDD but has taken too long, Failed to boot from HDD (Freezed). I booted PC from MHDD4.6 CDROM.

I just tried MHDD, following is what I have done/seen

When I select 1 and pressed F2 to auto detect HDD it says drive not ready. On top ERR is red and BUSY is GREEN rest are BLUE.

Dont know much about MHDD

Please advise

Hi,

DELL PC does recognize this drive some times as 0MB and some times doesn't detect at all. It hasn't detected it as 500Gb or even more than 1MB. It spins good without any noise and keep spinning.

What u think detecting as 0MB could be a head problem???? u sure???

What u think should I give it a try what is mentioned in this forum
