Using Recovered Files from failed HDD

Hi, I am new to this forum so apologies if this post is in the wrong section....

I have had a mechanically failed drive of which I have had the data recovered by a now very rich person.

The entire contents of the failed hard drive were recovered and sent back to me on an external HDD. The file system is exactly how it appeared before failure. Is it possible to transfer the data to a new SATA Internal HDD so it will boot exactly the same as the old drive??

I really want to avoid a fresh install of Windows and other required programs. The computer is used as a server in an estate agents. Installing the estate agent server software from scratch is a massive task.

That depends on how the files are sent back. If as an image of the failed disk, it may (only may!) be possible, if as a bunch of files, even in the correct folder/file structure, it's impossible.

Hi thanks for your response, the data sent back was not an image just the files and folders in the correct order. Busy week for me now!

Why not ask the company if its possible for them to do a clone?

It may or may not be possible, depending on the quality of the media, but its worth asking the question.

If it was possible then we would have no issue in providing one.
