Toshiba PCB compatibility

October 29th, 2012, 4:18

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on whether these PCBs are compatible. PCBs have same MCUs but are slightly different, IC602 are in different positions.

Thanks.

I can't offer an opinion on compatibility, but FWIW the patient MCU dates back to week 34 of 2009 whereas the donor MCU is from week 34 of 2010.

There also appears to be a fuse adjacent to pin #10 of the SATA power connector.

I can't see the markings of the flash memory on the donor PCB, but the patient's IC 602 appears to be a Macronix MX254005, which is a 4Mbit device. I would check whether the donor's "ROM" has the same capacity.
