Guys this is urgent !
I keep all my important files in that drive ,
today I connected my usb to sata adapter along with the external current ,the external current thing has 12v 4 pin molex , so I use it with a molex to sata power conveter ,but today I have plugged the molex to sata the up side down to the adapter , so that when I connected the power to hdd , a smoke came from the connector part inside the harddisk. so now what can I do to get my files from it ? If I replace the pcb will it work ?
any link or anything regarding that would be great .
model number: wd1600aajs - 98psa0 ( all capital letters)
manufactured date: 08 feb 2008
so if anyone has it or know someone who have it please let me know .
please help me to get even the files from it.
or I can pay if anyone can ifx it for me, I'm from SriLanka , so do I need to ship the whole drive or just the pcb ?
thanks alot.

or is it possible to get only the data from it ?
some guy locally told that he could recover all the data from the hdd for 25$ , is it real and is possible ?
how would they recover when having a broken pcb?
thanks alot
