Strange File Corruption Problem with external HDD

November 1st, 2012, 6:11

Hey Guys,

Ive been searching all over the internet for a strange problem that corrupted some of my files on an external HDD from Verbatim:

I ran the 'Check File System (marking the check & fix detected errors)"
from MiniTool Partition Wizard over it and noticed after a while that
some media files are randomly corrupted.

If I try to open them they sometimes can't be backplayed or backplay a totally
different media file that in every of the cases was deleted from the HDD before.
The ID3 Tags sometimes shows the original file name (and file size) or sometimes alters
the "title" and/or "artist" to the file it then backplays.

This happens randomly to e.g. single songs of albums or single episodes of TV-Series.

Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?

Cheers!
