Hi

I need a pcb for my WD 5000AAVS-00ZTB0
PCB sticker :2061-701444-JOO-AB

The power is gone because use of wrong power supply,so the disc wont spin .

Anyone have any idea where to find a replacement pcb ? Ore how to fix the pcb ? Someone that might be able to fix it ?

Have tried e-bay and a lot of other sites on the net , but no luck at all .

Hate to let all the data on my disc go down the drain .

Sometimes the SMOOTH motor controller is damaged by the overvoltage, especially if the resistors are open circuit. In this case, if location U12 is vacant, then you'll need a PCB adaptation service.

If my measurement is right I have a damaged D4 TVS diode (12 v )

Any idea where to get it replaced ? ore to get a new diode , might try to fix it myself if that is my last chance.
Have done some repair before , but not a pro .

The TVS diodes are for protecting the pcb from Voltage outages , and not necessary for the functioning of the pcb.
If you have a stable and good power supply, then you can remove the TVS diodes and power on the Drive.

Did you measure R64? If it is open circuit, then be prepared for damage to the SMOOTH chip.

Hi , yes fzabekar i noticed that after I had posted my question .
I have not measured the R64, i will do so when home from work . Have not done anything yet , just wanted to read more and get more info , before I do anything that might damage the hdd more then necessary. I will try to find someone that might repair it for me .

Finally after many e-mails to several workshops (did not get any response ore answer from any of them ) i had to try to fix it myself , I removed the 12v Tvs diode ,and now the disk is spinning again and I can access my data
