hi.
WD Mybook Essential USB 3.0 2T's S-ATA to USB 3.0 bridge board burnt.
but hdd is fine.
as you know hdd is encrypted by bridge board.
i can't repair it.
so i try buy same one and attach hdd to new one's bridge board.
is it possible this way?
i don't know brige boards have unique encryption information or same encryption information.
i think, bridge boards have same encryption information, it's possible just swap bridge board.
if bridge boards have unique encryption information, is there any other way?
any one knows what chip has encryption information?

Cant see the main IC number properly(the BGA IC at the middle). But that should be the controller if it does encryption.
An identical board should work i guess.
Have you checked the HDD, sure it has no problem?
Tried to repair the bridge board?

main ic is symwave sw6316-3vb14 d0u252.
i found datasheet of this chip.
"AES-XTS encryption (IEEE-1619), AES standard encryption, IEEE-1667 authentication"
hdd has no problem.
i can't repair board.

What's wrong with the bridge board? Is there any visible damage?
If you disconnect the HDD, can the board be detected by Microsoft's UVCView?

If U6 is faulty, then it can be removed and replaced with two wire links. You would need to connect the Drain1 and Source1 pins together, and the Drain2 and Source2 pins together. This effectively bypasses both switches and permanently powers on the drive.

Try fzabkar suggestion first if its applicable - ie drive does not spin up when connected to bridge board

Does this show the correct pinout? Just want to make sure before I update my documentation
ie the dot indictates pin 1

@Loki, your pinout is correct, but the device is wrong.
Your diagram shows a dual N-channel MOSFET, whereas the photo of the 4061-705089 PCB that I have in my records shows an APM4532 device at U6. The APM4532 comprises one N-channel MOSFET and one P-channel MOSFET.

Thanks for your reply.
I thought the device would probably be wrong as I searched for
"8 legged MOSFET pinout" as I couldn't see any markings on the MOSFET in the op picture hence why I asked.
