Can HDAT2 be used to produce a 22.bin file ?

January 16th, 2013, 12:36

Can HDAT2 be used in a similar way to MHDD to produce a 22.bin file?

I can not get MHDD to produce a 22.bin file after I run the .dump script. All i get is an error.

Thanks for any help.

Does anyone know of another software that will provide the 22.bin file, other than MHDD ?

To help stop you repeating (almost) the same question even more times :) no, I don't know of any other similar utilities with the necessary functionality, which are free (like MHDD) and as easy to use for non-technical folks. There are other options e.g. for people who can do low-level OS programming, and understand ATA commands.

There are several possible reasons for problems using MHDD, which have been discussed before.

I don't think was drive was going to produce the 22.bin no matter what I tried. I got a drive error with any script I tried to run.

But, no worries! The ZU finally came through for me. I must have tried two different versions of zu 30 times. Finally it worked this morning. Just like that password gone and perfectly clean 500 GB drive !!
