Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello,
I have a drive (WD6400AAKS) with
no important data on it that give's a '118 DAM Error' from WD's Data Lifeguard Tools program.
The knowledge base page of WD (
http://support.wdc.com/techinfo/general/errorcodes.asp) says: "Data Address Mark (DAM) Error. There may be media errors present on this drive. If the automatic repair feature is unable to repair these errors, replace the drive.". And the automatic repair feature was really unable to repair as i kept getting the error if checking again

.
Do you think there's anything i can still do to save this drive? and if so... what would i need?
Thanks.

Not reliably no.
It probably could be professionally refurbished, but as a single drive the cost would be prohibitive.
Just buy a new one.
