good morning ;
i have this wd3200bmvv that was dropped .
the drive spins normally < no ubnormal spinning sound > and when plugged in i can hear the heads seeking the SA area then idle , and drive keeps spinning normally .
how ever the drive doesn't detect , just noting , using windows or linux .
the usb socket is not loose , any suggestions ?

Could be several things.
One bad head, bad sectors preventing smartware startup, firmware damage....
Whichever it is, it's not DIY and the USB interface makes it especially difficult.
Shouldn't be too expensive AT THIS STAGE for pro assistance.
