usb to sata universal converter ?

March 18th, 2013, 4:02

good morning .

i was thinking of making a USB to sata "universal" adapter , as mentioned here in the forum , to use the USB native drives with my ddi ,

i saw several pinouts for several USB adapters types , but i was thinking .

all usb adapters have the same end to connect to the pc ; located in here

why not making an adapter that has a female USB connecter of the above end , and have the sata on the other end ?

just a theoretical idea

what's your opinion ?
thank you

Unless you are using the USB Add-On with DDI4, your USB to SATA bridge may not work so well with DDI3 units. If you are thinking about such a bridge, which would be very cool, you may want to correspond with Andrei at DeepSpar. He is a wealth of knowledge and I'm sure that he'd let you know of any hurdles you might encounter on the way.
