Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
have gone through any topics, and although after reading them i have little hope,
i have a 1TB WD10TMVW , i was about to disconnect it and the COOL! guy i am i ended up making the HDD fall, but as it was still plugged in the front USB slots , it did not fall to the floor but it did hit its side on the computer itself (rather lightly)..
I immediately disconnected it.. BUT....
Now the light comes on, i cant feel any sound or vibration when connected, but if i place it near my ear i here a very very short whirring sound followed by gentle click and again whirring and click ( 5 times) and then silence.... the whirring and clicking is so soft and short and gentle that by placing a hand on the disk there is no vibration ( this is after removing the HDD from its black plastic enclosure).
Any hope? Basic data like photos and music and vids but no back up.. nothing that important but still i'd like to get it back and try and repair the disk...
