WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0 with 2 heads damaged

April 8th, 2013, 14:15

Hi,

I need to recover data from HD below:

WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0
DCM: HANT2HBB

Defect: 2 heads damaged

I bought the HD:

WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0
DCM: FBCT2ABB

When I opened the HD with DCM: FBCT2ABB, this only has one head.

How to know how many heads has in HD before opening it?

Thanks to all.

Read the heads map in ROM.

find one with a close date is something that has worked for me about 90% of the time. also make sure if the clients drive is not a recertify, do not get a recertify.

these two things are on the top label
