played with few drives, that's why can't comment overall
but it played the role where it was 1672-001 & 1675-004 & vice versa.
here i see both 1814-001 & 1820-000 have same MCU & SMOOTH IC. that's why seems compatible

1672 and 1675 are different pcb's.
In some families -*** makes difference. Seen this a lot.
I've seen 1814 being compatible with 1812 and 1820.
