Apple Sparsebundle decryption?

Hello

Have a drive in just now thats from a mac. Wont boot into OS, had a single bad sector which i have remapped, tried to repair it in MacDrive but still wont boot. Also refuses to mount within MacOS. Problem is that the users data has been encrypted with FileVault and all I have is a load of 8mb files that I cant do anything with. Have the users username and password. Is there any software available that will allow be to mount the Sparsebundle and allow me to gain access to data?

Is posible to recover the bad sector?, revive Sector?
If you can revive and you have username and pass you get data.

Not that i know of. I couldnt read the sector in anything before. I also have no idea if thats what caused the OS to stop booting in the first place. Everything says the volume is fine but still refuses to mount.

I find it hard to believe one bad sector was causing the drive not to boot, unless it was sector 0.

With only one bad sector you should be able to mount it as a slave in another mac through a USB or fire wire cradle.

The sparsebundle is in a hidden folder of the user folder so you have to make sure to show hidden files and folders on the mac. There are ways of doing it through the terminal depending on your OS that is slaving the drive.

Then you should be able to just double click the sparse bundle , it will ask for the pw , enter it and then it will mount it as a drive.

Data...

That is how i always do it, and never had any issues.

Hi. Im also surprised it wont boot but there you go. Mac OS says the disk is fine when I slave it and go to verify or repair but will not mount volume. Suppose i best see what i can do to force mount. I can see all the files including the hidden file in the user directory fine within windows with Macdrive....

yes make a clone from original drive because if not work, you could make more testings
