I see..you said the drive is recognized and the modules can be read.. if it says you have a bad sector, have you try to rebuild it? if it still fails, try to reflash.

I have done this a month ago.. I have tried rebuild the sector and failed.

Check on linux and try to image the data also failed.

The last solutions I made was reflash and I succeed to recover all the data.

By reflashing, you mean writing a good module?

Do you need Data from the drive ?

Thaks Spildit

yes, i know is a common fail. But i do not see it.
Yes, i need data REcovery.

do you know any "safe for data" way for data recovery?

Hi Dear Friend hddrec

Bro My Opinion Is Your Drive Is In PARTIAL SECTOR ACCESS Problem.
Go To View Sector And Check All Drive Area Accesible Or Some Area Accesible And Then Other Are Bad Not Redable.
I Am 99.99% Sure Your Problem Is Partial Sector Access Problem.
Try Partial Utility For Pc3000 Udma Or SD In 7200.11 Futures There Is Fix Partial Sector Accesibility Utility Use It.
Its Take Time And Long Process Sometime.

exactly, that is PSA problems... what I meant about reflashing is not about writing a good module. What I did was reflash the firmware after reboot.

This .12 barracuda is a common problem. That is the easiest way to solve in case if you want to backup your data before the drive goes bad. Try to check your HDD with SMART,if it says you have a bad drive before reflashing the firmware, you have a chance to recover it in easisest way.

~my 20 cents

I know a way that sometimes work on drives like that but you will loose all data ....
I also agree with PARTIAL SECTOR ACCESS !
You can try the "Leonardo Method" in case you can't fix it with PC3K

Thaks 4 fouor reply.

what is "Leonardo Method"?

Thanks

Not so sure this is a good thing to do. If the goal is to recover data, I think not.
