seagate barracuda 7200.11 with a 0lba error
firmware confirms its ok and the pcb board is checked working
so i decided to go and try the com terminal
to try and reboot the drive
and type m0,2,2,0,0,0,0,22
it coming up with the following error
DiagError 0000500E Process Defect List Error
R/W Sense 00000002, R/W Error 841C0087, List Offset 00000000, File Error 00000001
is it possible
a faulty head or translator issue
any-chance this can be fixed or shall i just bin it

What about checking SA first ?

checked service area and that checked out fine no corruption
looks for sure the headstack has gone as no signal at preamp
was working until we had a power cut
its a old drive so i suppose sooner or later it had to happen.

How could you check the SA and assess it fine with "headstack gone / no signal at preamp" ?
Unless you mean that BEFORE the "power cut" it was more or less working
