WD5000BEVT-22ZAT0
Date: 04 DEC 2008
The HDD is always BUSY, after long time, sometime it produces "Error", sometime it shows "NO DEVICE".
NO SPIN. My first suspect is ROM.
I need ROM & FW for this drive.
The ROM is embedded into the MCU, also I can't read ROM in safe mode. Read Fails.
PCB: 2060-701572-002 Rev A

I would guess as a initial guess that ROM is bad. Try to access SA via non-native PCB/ROM. Find SA version as determined at overlays, then find suitable ROM version and write to donor PCB.
Does HDD spin if you isolate HSA contacts at PCB?

In the next Run, I got READY after long time BUSY.
But NO SPIN still.
Used Donor Resource to LOAD parameters, then I have been able to read ROM (192KB Generated), but NO SA Access still.
I have attached the ROM file for your inspection if it is normal or corrupt please.

No, the HDD doesn't spin even I keep off the HSA contact from the PCB.
Yes, PCB is original
Sticker doesn't contain FW version, but

History how the drive is dead:
The Drive was working fine last time. For about 15 days the Laptop/HDD was not switched on, simply it was kept off. Then later it is found the HDD stopped working.

You can check whether the PCB is original by comparing the date on the label against the YYWW and WWYY date codes on the ICs and on the PCB. They should be very close.

Your ROM checks out OK.
I had to calculate the checksum for PMCBlks 7 and 8 separately because Nazyura's tool is limited to 128K ROMs.
I also carved out each MOD and verified them separately.
(Note to self: write my own ROM checking tool)
- Code:
C:\WD\WD5000BEVT-2ZAT0>chksum2 -32 MOD_??.bin
MOD_0D.BIN: 72 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
MOD_47.BIN: 1024 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
MOD_4F.BIN: 172 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
MOD_30.BIN: 1024 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
MOD_0B.BIN: 208 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
MOD_0A.BIN: 64 bytes checksum32 = 0x00000000
- Code:

It has been confirmed that the PCB is original.
I am trying to collect DONOR PCBs, not in stock right now.
I am wondered to see DRIVE comes to READY, ROM can be READ. But the PCB bad!!! Let's see after I collect the PCB first.

2 Donor PCBs has been collected and tested. Still No Spin.
Status Sometime PCB, sometime Busy then No Device... Never Ready

What does patient PCB with original ROM do on a known working donor drive?

Can't be confirmed. Only PCBs were collected, not Drive.
Do you think it's Stiction?

Yes, it's Spindle...
No noise. no spin... nothing... silent n dead..

Did you measure the resistances of the motor windings?
Did you measure the voltages at the motor terminals after power-on?

didn't measure, but it was Spindle my friend

Well,
How did You Solve It In The End ,Opened And Unstuck The Spindle Or was It Heads Outside On Surface
