LaCie Grand Hard Disk 1Tb - Hardware breakdown

July 4th, 2013, 3:36

Hi, everyone!
My LaCie Grand Hard Disk 1Tb contains essential documents and data. The mini port USB has gone into the enclosure, so it doesn't work. I would like to repair it, but first, it doesn't seem that the enclosure will resist and second, the design of this case doesn't allow me to figure out how I can open it. No screws, no marks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkKff8Vnv_Y
Anyone knows how I can open this, please???
Which is the best option, a new enclosure or simply open and try the sata-usb cable?
I have no knowledge of this, but I'm not sure as to whether I could do this myself.
Many thanks, regards.

On the youtube vid someone said that the screws to open this drive is located under the drive behind some white stickers, probably the rubber stands. Then once you slide the drive out you can repair the port by taking it all to a electric shop where they can solder it cheaply...
