Thanx for the reply.We had given the HDD to service centre for data recovery. According to techie,present firmware is corrupted and new firmware is not available in maxtor site as well. If we can update the firmware, then he said 70% chance is there for data recovery.Hence i require it badly.

if your data is valuable stop trying and seek professional .it's not DIY .search for good Data recovery center in your area

HDD was given to a professional company. They have raised their hands saying they cant get firmware. Hence I am trying to get and give to them.

I would suggest you to find better hands to handle your data recovery case...
BTW, there is a file that you may need: http://files.hddguru.com/download/PC-30 ... r/GRIZZLY/
But again, it doesn't seem to me that those guys know what they do...
