Recover saved data on PS3 hard drive

August 29th, 2013, 20:18

My problem is the same mentioned here:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f177/need-h ... ed-102686/

I read that the solution mentioned by fzabkar could help:
viewtopic.php?t=22728&start=

However, after copying sector 0 to the corrupted hard drive, the PS3 is still asking me to format the hard drive. Is it possible to recover the game saves by cloning the sectors they're kept in using DMDE and copying them to a new HDD?

Also, I've tried using this software "BYclouder PS3 Data Recovery" but seems to be giving me data from back when my HDD was used in my laptop rather than PS3. Is there any method including the aforementioned one that can recover game saves?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Dont believe you will have any luck. My understanding of PS3 is that drive is wholly encrypted. It is also keyed to blue ray player that is probally source of encryption. Best source of game backup is the online backup if your a ps3+ member. Manual backup next. Other than that I believe it is end game.
