Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi, I have just removed the hard disk from my Xbox 120gb "clip on" storage to find a WD1600BEVS 160gb disk inside.
I have initialised, deleted/created the partions and reformatted but it still shows 120gb.
Any ideas what I need to do to this disk to get 160gb please?
Thanks

You need to restore the drive's original identity using the UNDO.BIN file that you should have saved when you clipped it. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE A FOREIGN UNDO.BIN.
If you have lost the original UNDO.BIN file, then here is a method that has worked for others:

Thank you for your quick response.
Crikey, it certainly looks a load of work to restore the drive. I will probably put up with the 40gb loss and leave it well alone.
Thanks again
