HD giving SMART error :(

Hello to everyone.

I am Arthur Bernardes, I have a serious problem.

I have an Acer notebook with a HD 320 GB Western, he is now giving error during boot, the error is "read error".

Now, I can not commence or the USB bootable Linux then I heed the Hiren's Boot CD with the Mini XP, it takes too long to load, and when finally I open My Computer, it crashes.

Now I thought to format the drive using the HDD Low Level Format, but he accuses error during all formatting, the error is:

"Format Error ocurred at offset ......"

.... mean the HD sector.

Have important photos and videos in this album, the more I can do?

Yet you are trying to "low level format" ????

LLF wipes the data!!!

Stop what you are doing NOW!

Ideally you should take to a pro for recovery, but if you accept the risks that DIY brings and accept that you could lose any chance of recovery FOREVER. Then you could try...

1. Clone the device to another one with non-windows cloning software (e.g. Dd_rescue or Media Tools Pro)

2. Scan the CLONE with recovery software, such as Getdataback or rstudio

Stop any processes if the drive starts to make any unusual noises.

AT THIS STAGE a proper pro recovery is almost certainly do-able at a reasonable price, but further DIY work could increase the price and/or render the data unrecoverable.
