WD hard drive: WD1600

hi,

i have WD harddisk WD1600 model:1600JD-40GBB2 S/N: WMAES4109013 size: 160 GB. i connect to power. it spins up and makes noise(cluncking sound) repeatedly then stop spinning. upon booting, it shows this message
Model: "WDC WD1600
Serial Number: "", LBAs: 0
ATTENTION: Zero Capacity!

it's wrong serial number and capacity. what problem to this disk(head or firmware).
