Wd Passport 750 gb Not responding after falling

October 19th, 2013, 14:45

Dear Friends,

I have recd a wdd passport drive 750gb from a client which suffered a fall while not in use which contains HDD model WD7500KMVV-11TK7S1

Now when i connect it to usb i can hear faint sound like it is trying to initialize when brought to ears but i cannot feel it rotating for initialising.

Can the Platters motor be stuck ? or please advise any possible solutions.

Ajay

Heads are stuck on platters or jammed in the ramp. Pro intervention is advised if the data is important. There is a good chance that one or more are ruined or there is media damage or firmware problems. Not DIY.
