Drive recoverable with scratched SA?

October 29th, 2013, 14:40

I have a drive where the inner platter is pretty scratched. Is it at all possible, with any tools or methods, to still image the drive?

Could you share with us the model of your drive since SA on the inner plater sounds very interesting?

Hitachi HDS721010DLE630
This is a newer drive. ARM family DLE 6 drive, SATA III. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a SA-C. 2 heads, single platter.
Attached some pics of the scratched platter.
