mk6459gsxp skipped 8 sector chunks imaging

December 19th, 2013, 23:51

I am trying to image this hard drive using a ddi4. I have it set to read one sector at a time with a timeout of 5000ms. it will image ok for awhile, but then return 8 sectors in a row as unreadable. Then it will image some more, then return an 8 sector chunk as unreadable. Any thoughts to why it is imaging in such a specific pattern?

Is it an Advanced Format drive?

1 x Physical 4KB Sector = 8 x 512e LBAs

Edit: It's an AF drive:
